Wade Parks Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Wade Parks defied the odds at every turn. He was a constant source of energy and inspiration for his family, teachers and many friends. Born with special needs that led doctors to speculate that he might never walk, speak, live independently, or grow to maturity, Wade not only walked, spoke and beguiled his parents with his fiercely stubborn determination to do things his way, Wade enjoyed his time at summer camp where he was a natural leader and loved his independence. It was at camp that he suffered a fatal respiratory attack and left his sister and parents grieving for the strong, funny man that he was becoming. His parents initiated this scholarship in an effort to memorialize his spirit, and honor the many students who attend Temple College who have overcome numerous challenges to beat the odds and blaze their own trail.
