Temple College Foundation
The Board of Directors of the Temple College Foundation established the Proven Scholars endowment as a means to celebrate and showcase a student who is able to carry a full load of classes in a predetermined major and keep a 4.0 grade point average. The scholarship will provide for tuition, fees, and a housing allowance for the award winner.
Impact
I’ve never been a 4.0 student. But college is different for me. I’m at a place in my life where I know I have what it takes to do school right, and I want to prove it. The grades are important, but they are just an indication of the actual learning that’s taking place. I pour myself into my classes. I get to know my professors, sit up front, answer questions, do extra work – not because I’m trying to butter anyone up, but because I want to learn. I’ve worked so hard to come to school, I’m not going to waste a minute or let any opportunity for knowledge pass me by. This is my best self in the best place doing the best work.
