The Rotary Club of Temple provides scholarships to exceptional students who embody the Rotary model of Service Above Self.
Impact
As a student who has come from a developing country, I can tell you how hard it is to get an exceptional education. I’ve had to leave my family, my country, my home, but Temple College has made a new and special place for me. I’ve done service with the Rotary club because it’s the least I can do to express my gratitude for helping me to have all that I have. I’ve also been able to speak at RYLA and talk to students there about how much we have in common despite the obvious differences we have in color, religion, and language. The truth is, we’re all trying to find our way, and the more we help each other, the more we all succeed. I have made it a priority to give back too. Each year, I make a special trip to the Foundation to update them on my progress and to make a donation. I would be so honored to join Rotary once I’m an established MD/PhD physician/researcher.
