John D. Janicek
Johnny Janicek’s mother, Klara started a scholarship fund in 1986. When John passed away in 2003, he left a substantial portion of his estate to the scholarship fund in hopes of helping other TC students who had to rely on scholarships to get an education. His brother, and sister, who were also TC alumni believed that his generosity was a sign of his respect for both his mother and the education he received at Temple College. As an avid baseball player at TC and UT, John continues to support student athletes.
Impact
This scholarship will allow me more time to study for and complete my Associate Degree in Nursing. I have two semesters left to earn my degree that I have been dreaming of for over a decade. Having this money will help me and words cannot express my gratitude, Thank you!
I will be working towards a degree in Health Sciences while representing TC as a softball player. I am really honored to be chosen for this scholarship and the opportunity to represent the Temple College Foundation.
