Dr. Edna Penny Bridges

​Dr. Bridges entered Temple College while raising her young family with her husband Bobby. She wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. Temple College gave her the flexibility and support to set out on an educational path that led her to achieve three advanced degrees. She taught in the Temple Independent School District before joining the faculty at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and serving there for many years. She established this scholarship in the Teacher Education program to encourage and assist others to realize their dreams as well. ​
