Adele S. Ledebuhr Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Karen Robinson retired from Temple College as the Director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program, she established a nursing scholarship in honor of her mother, Adele S. Ledebuhr. Her mother fostered her love of nursing and Mrs. Robinson wants to help students who have a specific desire to work with elderly patients.

Impact

We all do clinicals in care facilities. Some people can’t wait to get out of there and get up to the wards in the hospital. And I know the nursing professors want us to start our careers in hospital settings so that we really cement our skills and see a lot of different kinds of patients, but the truth is, I love working with the elderly and hope that I’m able to return to one of the care facilities when I graduate. I love having relationships with the patients and their families that are reinforced daily, and I want to see them through the final chapter of their lives with dignity and respect. —Scholarship Recipient
